Mindfully Designed was born from the success of our sister company, Mindful Construction Inc—a design-build firm known across the East Bay for building beautiful, intentional outdoor spaces. As our design work grew and evolved, so did the need to give it a life of its own. While construction remains in expert hands with Mindful Construction, Mindfully Designed focuses entirely on helping you visualize and shape your outdoor space with purpose and precision.
Proudly driven by a predominantly female team, we bring fresh perspective and leadership in an industry still largely male. Bringing intuition, creativity, and empathy together with construction expertise and technical knowledge allows us to create designs that are both inspired and fully feasible on your property.
Mindfully Designed was founded by James “Tony” Trowbridge and Cynthia Torp — partners in both business and creativity. With years of combined experience designing and building outdoor spaces through Mindful Construction, we recognized the need for a dedicated design focus where creativity could thrive independently. Mindfully Designed offers clients a clearer, more focused, and personalized design experience right from the start.
